Further update on progress on Summary Loss Records for the WWII Luftwaffe
This is just a short message to give an update on one of the current projects on the site. The entering of the so-called Summarische Verlustemeldungen for the WWII Luftwaffe is coming along nicely. The Jagdgeschwader units have all been entered in the database, and work on the Schlacht- and Zerstörer units is a long way along.

Lockheed Lodestar
I am doing research on Lockheed Model 18 Lodestar. Its operations with the Norwegian manned BOAC service between Leuchars, Scotland and Bromma (Stockholm), Sweden during WW2, and operations with No. 20 Transport Squadron, RAF and No. 335 Squadron RNoAF post war.

2nd TACTICAL AIR FORCE Vol. 1: Spartan to Normandy June 1943 to June 1944
This book deals with the formation of the 2nd Tactical Air Force and the expansion during the first critical month of the invasion. It describes day-by-day activities for the units within 2nd TAF. For each day a list of victories and losses is given, with time, squadron, aircraft type, serial, code (if known), pilot(s) and claim/loss. Short descriptions of the opponents are also given.

Freiburg 2011
The annual study trip to BA/MA in Freiburg is scheduled for September 12. - 16. 2011.

A location search field has been added to the page to enable searches for losses in a specific geographical location.

Both commanding unit and aircraft code search fields have been added to the loss overview page, enabling for example a search for all losses for a given Luftflotte, or all losses for aircraft with a given code or partial code.

Register Loss
Aircraft filter has been added, and the system for registration of geographical locations has been altered for better useability.

View Aircraft
The aircraft history data is now included in the aircraft datasheet.
